Only one more week till my 1st Birthday!

Hi Everyone, hope you are all having a great weekend! It has been really nice to have Daddy home for the past two days, I am loving it. Yesterday was a gorgeous day here, it was 58 which apparently is the equivalent of 15, not bad for January 23rd. Although earlier this week it wasn't nearly as nice, we got snow again.

Mommy decided to take some funny pics of me in the morning with my crazy hair, this is what happens when you sleep with your hair up!

On Thursday my big girl car seat was delivered, I love it, it is very me! Mommy took it out of the box and put it on the floor so I could test it out and I think I approve, it is very pretty in Chocolate Brown and pink, what beautiful colours. I played in it for quite a while, I needed to make sure it was nice and comfy.

The day we got snow Mommy had this crazy idea that it would be fun to get all bundled up and play outside in the snow, oh boy! I have to say I am just not a big fan of snow, it's cold and wet what is fun about that. But Mommy tried her best to get me to laugh, she did get one giggle out of me. You'll see from one of the pictures below that I wasn't very happy with her once we finally got inside, it took forever to warm up again! Oh yah, check out my new pink boots, aren't they pretty, they are big girl boots with "real soles".

This is one of my favorite new things to do, I sit at the gate at the top of the stairs and play with the dogs. Ryder likes to hang out in the rec room downstairs but every once in a while he'll come up and sit on the other side of the gate and we play peek a boo with eachother!

Last but not least is a video of me walking, I am all over the place and I love it, but I am not too sure Mommy and Daddy like it that much. They seem very worried that I am going to fall and hurt myself! One more thing, Mommy says don't mind her messy hair and clothes in the video, she has been doing housework all day...thanks!

Well, time to go shopping for a Party Dress for my big birthday party, I can't wait!

Love you,
Emmie

Brrrr it's cold outside

Hi Everyone, I hear it is very cold up in Canada. We hoped we would get missed but some how it managed to make its way down here as well. It hasn't been nearly as cold as what you are all experiencing but it has been below zero which is uncommon for this area. Actually I think you might get a laugh out of this, they have cancelled school here for the past 3 days because of cold temperatures (-5 C)!

Since it has been on the chilly side, Mommy and I haven't been doing too much just hanging out inside. Although, we have had to do some shopping because none of my clothes fit, I am a growing girl, Mommy weighed me today and I weigh 21 lbs! She got me the cutest Nike jogging suit the other day, I love it.

I am also walking all over the place, every once in a while I take a big spill and then decide to crawl. But since I am now walking Mommy said I need "real shoes" which apparently means shoes with proper soles on the bottom. So yes that means we get to go shopping again!

Daddy has been working lots lately which means we have been eating a lot of cafeteria food! The other night I got the sweetest little bear from one of the nurses and the best thing about it, it's wearing doctor scrubs just like my Daddy does!

Check out the pics below, I think you will agree that I get pretty excited when Daddy comes home from a night on-call. When he comes up those stairs I can't control myself, it makes me so happy!

Well, that is all for now, I gotta go and eat lunch!

Love you,

Emmie

Uncle Ryan's visit - Happy New Year to everyone

Happy New Year to all of you! I not too sure what all the fuss is about with New Year's Eve, I was in bed by 7:45pm, same old, same old. Although, I was put down at Fisher and Ella's house and I do recall being woken up at 1:00am to the cold air outside as Daddy carried me back home, huh! Anyways, we had a wonderful New Year's celebrating with my Uncle Ryan and our good friends the Battel Family. We forgot to take pics, well actually Uncle Ryan did, but he keeps forgeting to send them to us!

It was so nice to have Uncle Ryan here for a visit, he is so much fun. We played everyday, all day! He would sit at the fridge and play with my magnets, oh and one of my favorite things was being pushed in the laundry basket. It was so much fun, I couldn't stop laughing. Uncle Ryan even learnt how to feed me when he was here, Mommy had him share his blueberry waffles with me one morning, they were yummy. Check out the bib I am wearing in the pic below, it was made by my Great Grandma Hollinger, isn't it pretty!

One day we went up to Bays Mountain park and showed Uncle Ryan all these neat animals. It was a really nice day, a little nippy but nothing like it was when we were back in Canada. Uncle Ryan pushed me in my stroller all around the park, up and down hills, sometimes he would go really fast, it was great! I think my favorite animal was the fish, they were really cool. You will see below I have included a picture of a sign that says "Portugese Prayer of the Woods", I took this for my Uncle Cousin Jay, not too sure why that sign was in the park, who would have thought we would see a sign like that in East Tennessee!

As I am sure many of you know my Daddy loves hockey, so for Christmas I got my very own hockey stick. Daddy and I sat together and watched the Team Canada games over the holidays, we were so excited when Team Canada won, congratulations!

I have uploaded a video of Dexter and I playing together. I have taken a keen interest in my dogs recently and one of my favorite things to do is play tug of war with Dexter. Sometimes we use one of his toys but other times we use my socks!!!

Well hope everyone has a great weekend and we'll chat again soon!

Love,

Emmie

Emmie's 1st Christmas 2008

Hi Everyone,
We made it back safely to Tennessee and the trip was perfect! I slept for 10 out of the 12 hrs in the car, mommy says I was an "Angel".

My 1st Christmas was so much fun. I loved getting dressed up in all my pretty Christmas dresses and I really enjoyed opening presents. I had so many presents to open that Mommy and Daddy decided to start giving them to me on the 21st, they didn't want to overwhelm me on the big day, which was fine with me.

The Christmas party's began before we left Tennessee, we attended three different one's with people that Daddy works with. You will see from the pic below that I wasn't really a big fan of Santa!

I was very happy to see my godparents, Auntie Carrie and Uncle Brodie but for some reason we don't seem to have any pics on this camera, but we promise to post some soon. They told me some exciting news that they might be coming to visit me for my birthday, I am crossing my fingers that it all works out!
I also had lots of fun playing with my family at Lynn and Larry's Christmas party on the 23rd. Can you believe that 4 baby girls were born in 2008 in our family and I am the oldest, I guess I will have to show them the ropes!

We attended the Toddler's mass at our church on Christmas eve and it was wonderful, there must have been 40 to 50 kids and I was right in there with all of them. Christmas morning was fantastic, I got this really nice pink polka dot chair that I sat in on my very own and we all took turns opening gifts.

Christmas continued on until the end of boxing day as we went up north to Gravenhurst to celebrate with the Hollinger side of the family. I was disappointed on the morning of the 27th that there were no more presents to open!

It was fantastic to see everyone, I enjoyed every moment. Thanks for all the wonderful gifts!
I hope it won't be long till I see you again, you know where I am, feel free to come and visit.

Love you,

Emmie
