Time is flying by - I am almost 7 months old

Hi Everyone;

Well our house is starting to be put back together, as of yesterday we now have our kitchen back! Mommy made dinner at home for the first time in 2 1/2 weeks, she made Daddy his favorite, Lasagna. We are moving out for the weekend to our neighbors (Kara and Chris), they have been kind enough to let us stay at their house while the contractors are here putting in the new floors.

Mommy and I were pretty upset that we couldn't come home this past week, Mommy did a lot of crying. Daddy and our neighbors tried to make her feel better by taking her to the fair. We had so much fun at the fair, we got to see a whole bunch of cute little animals, I even got to touch a little duck. I also went on a carousel ride with Daddy, Kara and Fisher and a Firetruck ride with Daddy, Chris and Fisher. It was a really nice evening and I think it got Mommy to take her mind off of things.

Here is a picture of Kara and Chris, our super nice neighbors who you may have noticed we hang out with quite a bit, they have been a big help to Mommy and Daddy, we are so lucky to have such wonderful neighbors.

This past weekend Daddy had a boys weekend at the Nascar races in Bristol with Chris, while Mommy and I had a slumber party with Kara, Ella and Fisher, it was so much fun. Here are some pics of Fisher and I in the bath together, I couldn't stop laughing. Ella and her friend Ally Grace helped to get Fisher and I all washed up! On Saturday we went shopping at Sam's club and Fisher and I sat in the shopping cart together, while Ella actually took a ride in my stroller, she looked really funny.

I really like our house here in Tennessee, not only did Daddy get me my own pool, he also just installed my very own swing. I love swinging, if I stay in the swing long enough it makes me sleepy! Daddy hung the swing under our deck, so even if it is raining I can still go in it. There are some pics below and a video of me in my swing. I also included this funny picture of Dexter who was starring down at me from the top of the deck, he is such a silly doggy!

Since we haven't had a kitchen for the past 2 weeks we have had to eat out for most of our meals and just like a big girl I now sit at the table in one of those wooden high chairs. I love sitting at the table on my own and drinking from my big girl sippy cup. Speaking of being a big girl, mommy has now decided that every day she is going to do my hair and put shoes on my feet. Now how long the bow in my hair and shoes stay on is another story. Today she followed through and I think I looked pretty darn cute.

I got a new toy this week from Gigi's friend Nancy who lives in Mexico. She sent Mommy and Daddy money to buy we a play table, it is so much fun, it plays music and it has a mirror so I can see myself, check out the video of me playing with it. Thanks Nancy!

Weekend escape to the Smoky Mountains

Well, Mommy and Daddy just couldn't take it anymore with all the mess in the house so, we decided to escape for the weekend. Mommy booked us a cabin in the Smoky Mountains, it was spectacular. We had a beautiful log cabin located about 20 minutes from Pigeon Forge, it had a functioning kichen, a hot tub on the deck and it was very peaceful. I had my best sleep ever on our first night, I slept from 7:15 pm friday night till 5:30 am on Saturday, I had a little bit to eat and then went back to bed till 9:00 am! Here are some picture of our cabin:

I love the outdoors so every morning Mommy and Daddy would put me in my exersaucer on the front porch while they sat in the hot tub having their morning coffee (for Mommy) and water (for Daddy). It was so nice to get away from the noise and all the worries of the house, I haven't seen Mommy and Daddy smile so much in a while.

On Saturday we decided to drive into the town of Pigeon Forge, one way to explain this place is to take Niagara Falls and Wasaga Beach and put them together and quadruple the size. There is Dollywood which is like Canada's Wonderland, tons of kids carnival rides, outlet shopping, go kart race tracks, restaurants, Ripleys Museum and Aquarium, tons and tons and tons!!! We had lunch at a place called Calhoun's, then we went shopping and Mommy bought me some clothes at the Carter's outlet, but all the clothes are size 12 months. I guess she is thinking ahead, since I am already in size 6 to 9 months! Daddy found me my very own Adirondack chair to match the adult size one's we have on our back deck. When we were done shopping we were all pretty tired so we decided to put off the carnival rides till Sunday on our way home.

We were sad to leave the cabin but we had to return home and get our house back in order. But before we left we made sure to make a stop at the carnival for little kids. Daddy took me on my first Carousel ride and I got to sit on a horse that goes up and down it was so much fun. Then Mommy took my on my first Choo-choo train ride, wow ever neat! Check out the videos of me enjoying myself.

Well that is all for now, Mommy and I are heading home to Toronto on Thursday so this will be the last blog till we get back. Can't wait to see everyone when we are home.

Love,

Emmie

6 months old and on the move

Hi everyone, as promised here is my weekly blog update. As you can see from the title of this blog, I am now able to move, I am a crawler. On the weekend I began the "Army crawl" and as of yesterday I was able to do a full on crawl. Mommy and Daddy were so excited to see me crawl, they kept cheering me on with big smiles. But they better watch out because now I will be able to get into more things, which is what I think is very exciting. We have some video of me trying to crawl, I am a little camera shy so it was hard for Mommy and Daddy to get my actual crawling on tape last night.

We have also been using our pool a lot. The other night we had Ella and Fisher over with their Mommy and Daddy (Kara and Chris), we all went into the pool and had lots of fun. Ella is trying to overcome her fear of water and she is doing a great job! Fisher loves the water just like me, except both of us like to drink it and our parents keep telling us "No, yucky", not too sure why it seems good to us.

Speaking of water, Mommy and I came home Sunday night after having a nice dinner with Daddy at the hospital (he was on-call) to find a water leak. Mommy saw water coming through the ceiling and down the wall in the rec room. It turns out the dishwasher heating element burnt a hole in the hot water line and this caused hundreds of gallons of water to pour out under the floor in the kitchen and dining room and down into the rec room. So our house has been turned upside down, their are fans and dehumidifiers running to dry everything out and most of the kitchen has been torn out, as well as the floors in the kitchen and dining room. I think Mommy is about to crazy over all of this, especially having no kitchen. Here are some pics we took so you can all see!

The fans are really loud and with all the contractors coming and going, Mommy and I have been lucky enough to have such wonderful neighbors that let us hang out at their house. Yesterday while we were hanging out with Ella and Fisher we got to playing with sunglasses, check out how cool we look in our shades.

Mommy and I are also taking this time to check out other little towns nearby. We spent the afternoon walking around Jonesborough the other day, it is a cute old little town. One store we really liked was called the Lollipop shop and inside they have a talking tree, it was really neat. We got a bunch of candy to share with everyone at dinner at Ella and Fishers, of course I was not aloud to have any. I am doing a good job at eating though, in the mornings I have oatmeal and at dinner some sort of vegetable, my favorite is sweet potatoes and I can definitely say I hate "green beans", I actually spit them out at Mommy the other night.

Well, that is all for now, hope you are all enjoying the remaining days of Summer in back in Canada! Mommy, Daddy and I are all cheering for the Canadians in the Olympics, sure hope we win at least one medal!!!

Love,

Emmie

6 Months old and having a great time!

Hi Everyone;

Well the past week has been another busy one. We finally got our fence put up in our backyard, so now Dexter and Ryder can run all over the place, I think Mommy and Daddy are more excited about this than they are. Mommy and I have been spending allot of time out back with the dogs, it is lots of fun. We have attached below a video of Dexter and I playing together.

Now that we have a fenced in yard, Daddy decided we should get our very own pool. That's right we have a pool in our backyard and we all love it. I really enjoy the water, Mommy took a video the other night for all of you to see.

I also had my first experience hanging out at the lake. One of Mommy's new friends has a family house out on one of our many lakes here in Johnson City. It was a beautiful day and there were tons of kids everywhere. I didn't go swimming in the lake but I did go swimming in the pool at the lake house! Here are some pictures of Mommy's friend Kara holding me in the pool, along side me is her daughter Ella.

Well that is all for now, I hope you all enjoy the videos and pictures. Mommy and I are on a count down for our next trip home, only 2 weeks and 2 days, we can't wait.

Take care and miss y'all,

Emmie
